I changed the fuel filter on a Jaguar X-Type 2005 model and now the engine wont start. You can hear the engine trying to start but it doesnt quite make it. Well basically the best way I found to solve this was to take the new fuel filter off and use a funnel and poor diesel directly into it filling it up and tilting it slightly to allow the air to come out of it fully and get as much diesel in as possible. Re attach the fuel filter exactly how it was taken of to the correct hoses/pipes making sure the arrows line up and the fuel filter is the right way around as you can rotate it 180 degrees and it would then make the arrows point the wrong direction. Refit and then turn the ignition on until the coil goes out on the dash light and repeat this for about five times. Now start the engine it may hesitate very slightly and then just leave it to run and it will fully work as normal. This is exactly what i did and it worked based on what I read online and in the Haynes manuals. Hopefully this will save you a lot more time than I wasted on this task. If you would like to extend the phone ring length before it goes to voicemail please take a look below. I have pre-entered an example for the VODAFONE, O2, Orange and T-Mobile networks. The time can be altered in 5 second steps and be set between 5 and 30 seconds long – so you can use 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 seconds. How To Guide: All the following are 30 seconds long. Change the 30 to 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 to alter the ring length. Type the following into the keypad on the dial screen. **61*121*10*30# Then press the call button (VODAFONE) **61*901*10*30# Then press the call button (O2) **61*123*10*30# Then press the call button (Orange) **61*150*10*30# Then press the call button (T-Mobile) You can also change the ring duration from the menu function on some phones but not all phones and devices have this capability.
I had trouble with my Samsung Galaxy S4 detecting the original phone number from the sim card before I transferred to the Three network. This was due to me leaving my original network O2 and when I took out a new contract with Three network they gave me a new sim card with a different phone number on. I then supplied the PUK code and transferred my original phone number from O2 over to Three. Now the phone number would fully work as planned and as normal apart from one minor issue. That issue was that the Samsung Galaxy S4 detects the original phone number that was on the Three network SIM card before I transferred it over. So apps that use your phone number such as Whatsapp read the phone number from the SIM which I would assume is stored in the SIM although my new phone number works for ingoing and out going calls. So normally you have to go into Whatsapp and all the other apps that use the phone number stored in the SIM and change them. Not a big deal but when you factory reset you have to re enter it all. Such a pain in the bum. Basically the answer is this: Contact your network provider e.g. Three Network and state you need a replacement SIM. Make sure the replacement SIM comes programmed with the phone number you wish to use. They send you the SIM you then can either activate it online or call them and within 2 hours your new SIM will fully work and the phone number for the apps will be correct and in your phones device settings. Activate your SIM here: http://www.three.co.uk/Support/SIM_activation
I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S4 with a broken microphone which I was hoping to fix. When I made phone calls I had to put the loudspeaker on every time so the other person could hear me as the other microphone used without the loudspeaker was not functioning. I purchased a new ribbon cable with a microphone and charging port and replaced it. I then tried to charge the phone and got the following message on the phone: Info: Charging paused. Battery temperature too low. See photo: The device would not charge at all due to this error. So I then put the original ribbon cable with the old microphone and charging port back in the device and re-tested. The phone would charge as normal. The microphone was still faulty. I did try cleaning the mic port with a small pin/needle and this did clear some dirt away but this still did not solve the problem I then tried a full factory reset on the phone doing this by pressing the power button + home button + Volume up button (whilst the phone is off.) You can the do a full factory reset – I believe this is different from the one in the “settings” on the phone as I tried that and the microphone still would not work. I found that when a full factory reset was done by holding the above buttons down and completing the factory reset and making a phone call the microphone started to work again. So my beliefs so far is that the microphone issue is actually a software problem with Android OS or possibly an application conflicting with the microphone. So from doing this the microphone is fully working again and the problem is solved. I hope this helps someone else with the same issues. Some extra photos that you may find useful:
If you have ever parked on private land and get a “Charge Notice” letter posted from “Total Parking Solutions” (TPS) DO NOT PAY IT! By law you do not have to as it is on private land and it is a CHARGE and not a FINE.

New intro for Nerd or Turd I am currently developing. Any feedback, comments or ideas would be appreciated! 🙂
They seem to be a company calling on behalf of “Three Network” which I believe is a load of rubbish. They call from this number: 08003584494 I spoke to them told them I was not interested and they asked if anyone in my family would be interested in their deals. May help someone else out if you get multiple calls throughout the day and now you know what they will want to speak to you about. To reject future calls from them on Android: Go to the “Phone” icon (Green) and click the “Logs” tab and click and hold the number e.g. 0800 358 4494 Then select “Add to reject list” Problem resolved.
Have you ever cleaned your teeth and when you spit out the toothpaste you spit blood? Common cause of spitting blood it not flossing your teeth. Ive been flossing for a week now and I floss daily I never spit blood anymore! They say flossing can make you live 5 to 7 years longer.
Recently purchasing Google Drive 100GB for $1.99 plus Taxes ($2.59 /£1.51) cost me a “NON SELLING PURCHASE FEE” of £1.25. This cost was almost as expensive as the service I was paying for! I looked into this and this is because my bank Santander have an overseas fee they charge for Debit Cards like most other banks. So my next idea was to try the Santander Zero Credit Card as it states the fee is “NIL” so this shall be interesting. This website below was brilliant for seeing all the fees and percentages all the debit and credit card companies charge. There are companies that do not charge! So take a look at the link below: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/overseas-card-charges#credit
If you have a .SBU backup file you created ages ago with Samsung Kies and the new Samsung Kies will not open it try this brilliant program out: SBU-Extractor For more information on the program and to download it go here to the developers website: https://www.lord-luncher.de/index.php?pg=1 This allowed me to extract a lot of data from the .SBU file but it did have issues at extracting all the files unfortunately. Please donate on the guys website if you found it useful.
Please see the pictures below if you need to remove the Dyson DC04 power button. I removed the power button and then replaced the power cable which had broken and was shorting and sparking. Well i actually cut off the bad part of the cable which wae about 1 foot from the hoover and then recrimped the connections to the switch. Hopefully this helps someone.
If you have just got a new SIM card from T-mobile network and you have tried setting up SIM card lock then this code is the default and will work for you. Default T-Mobile Network SIM card lock code is: 1210 This code allows you to change the sim card lock code so if you loose your phone and someone tries to power your phone on or put your SIM card in another phone it will ask for this code. It prevents people from running up your phone bill etc. Very useful!
If you want to make the ultimate stink bomb then buy 24x stink bombs from eBay. Lay them down on the desk use a ruler and slide that up against the bottom to make them all level with each other. Now lay a piece of cellotape across them all and push firmly. Turn the stink bombs all over and apply tape to the other side. Now you have the ultimate stink bomb! Now all you need is some pliers to crush the tops of each bottle and then post this strip through the post box and shake to make sure all the liquid comes out. Job done! Enjoy! 🙂
